01

We fetch odds from 94 bookmakers

Every 30 minutes, our data pipeline pulls live odds from The Odds API across 94 bookmakers and 88+ sports markets — soccer, cricket, basketball, tennis, MMA, and more.

We compare odds across Pinnacle, Betfair, Bet365, 1xBet, Mostbet, William Hill, Unibet, and 40 more. All in real time.
02

We strip the bookmaker margin

Sharp bookmakers (Pinnacle, Betfair Exchange) set the most accurate lines. We use their odds as the "fair price" baseline, then strip the vig to calculate the true probability of each outcome.

Example: Pinnacle offers Chelsea Win at 2.10. No-vig probability = 1/2.10 = 47.6%. This is the market's best estimate of the true probability.
03

We calculate Expected Value (EV)

For every outcome across every bookmaker, we run: EV% = (odds × true_probability - 1) × 100. A positive EV means you hold a mathematical edge over the bookmaker.

If another bookmaker offers Chelsea at 2.40 and true probability is 47.6%: EV = (2.40 × 0.476 - 1) × 100 = +14.2%. That's a value bet.
04

We surface the best bets in real time

We sort all bets by EV%, filter out noise (low liquidity, closing markets), and show you the top value bets across all sports — ranked by edge, updated every 30 minutes.

Each bet card shows: EV%, best available odds, recommended Kelly stake, and a direct link to bet. No fluff.
The Formula
EV = (odds × probability) − 1

When EV > 0, the bet is profitable in expectation. The larger the positive EV, the stronger the edge.

Why We Use Sharp Bookmakers, Not Closing Lines

Many value betting tools wait for the closing line — the final odds just before a match starts — to measure true market consensus. We don't. We use live sharp-book consensus (Pinnacle + Betfair) as the reference price, updated every 30 minutes.

Here's why: the closing line is only available after the betting window closes. By then, you've already missed the value. Sharp bookmakers like Pinnacle set accurate prices from the moment a market opens, because their business model depends on precision — they accept bets from professional syndicates and don't limit winning players.

This means if Pinnacle offers Chelsea at 2.10 and a soft bookmaker offers 2.40, that gap is almost certainly mispricing by the soft book — not Pinnacle. We exploit that gap in real time, not in hindsight.

Worked Example

Finding a Value Bet: Chelsea vs Arsenal

1. Pinnacle odds for Chelsea Win
2.10
Sharp reference market
2. No-vig probability
47.6%
1 ÷ 2.10 = 0.476
3. Best available odds (1xBet)
2.45
Soft book mispricing
4. Expected Value
+16.6%
(2.45 × 0.476 − 1) × 100
5. Quarter-Kelly stake (£100 bank)
£4.16
0.25 × (0.476 − 0.408) ÷ 1.45

Result: this bet has a +16.6% edge over the bookmaker's true price. Over hundreds of similar bets, positive EV compounding leads to consistent profit — regardless of whether Chelsea wins this particular match.

Common Questions

Do I need to register to use EVBets?

No. EVBets is completely free with no account required. Open /value-bets and start browsing live +EV bets immediately.

How often are odds updated?

Every 30 minutes. Our pipeline fetches fresh odds from all 94 bookmakers every 30 minutes and recalculates EV for every available market.

Why do some bets show EV but disappear quickly?

Soft bookmakers correct their lines within minutes of sharp money coming in. The window for a value bet is typically 30–90 minutes from when we surface it.

Is this guaranteed profit?

No single bet is guaranteed. Value betting is a long-term statistical edge — you need 200+ bets for variance to smooth out. Our /results page tracks real tracked performance.
