EVBets was started in 2026 by two sports betting analysts who were tired of paying for tools that professional bettors take for granted. We built what we wished existed: a free, honest, mathematically rigorous scanner that actually explains its logic.
Why We Built EVBets
The first time I (Sergey) found a genuine value bet — Real Sociedad vs Villarreal, 2021 — I didn't trust it. The odds discrepancy between Pinnacle and a local bookmaker was obvious in hindsight, but I had no tool to surface it systematically. I placed a quarter of the Kelly-optimal stake because I doubted myself. The bet won; more importantly, I started keeping records.
Over the next three years I built spreadsheets, then Python scripts, then a proper pipeline. By early 2026 the system was mature enough to share — so we opened it to everyone.
We are not a fund. We don't manage your money. We don't sell picks. We built a tool and documented our methodology publicly — because transparency is how you earn trust in a space full of charlatans.

How EVBets Works
Live Odds Collection
We fetch live odds from 94 bookmakers every 30 minutes via The Odds API — covering soccer, cricket, basketball, tennis, and more. Each fetch captures full market depth.
No-Vig Probability
We use Pinnacle and Betfair as the reference 'sharp' market. Their margins (vig) are removed using the multiplicative method to get true implied probabilities.
EV Calculation
EV% = (True Probability × Decimal Odds − 1) × 100. Only bets with 1–20% EV shown — below 1% is noise, above 20% is likely a data error.
Data Sources & Methodology
Odds data: Provided by The Odds API. Updated every 30 min. We cover Betway, 1xBet, Pinnacle, bet365, 22bet, Parimatch, DraftKings, FanDuel and 39 more.
EV formula: EV% = (no-vig probability × decimal odds − 1) × 100. We use the multiplicative method to remove vig. Full explanation on the Methodology page.
Kelly criterion: We use a quarter-Kelly (25% of full Kelly) for conservative bankroll suggestions. Kelly stake = (EV / (odds − 1)) × 0.25 × bankroll.
Sports covered: English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, IPL Cricket, NBA Basketball, ATP/WTA Tennis, NHL, NFL, MMA, and 80+ additional leagues worldwide.
